MEET ERIC
Eric grew up immersed in the foodservice industry. His stepfather—an early pioneer and the first manufacturer of plastic cutlery and straws in the 1950s—helped launch the foodservice disposables sector and was among the first suppliers to brands like McDonald’s. From a young age, Eric was involved in manufacturing ventures, including plastic cups and foodservice containers, gaining hands-on experience that would shape his career.
Over the years, Eric became a leading international authority on foodservice and retail packaging. He founded Packaging Resources, a global packaging consultancy, and later launched US Restaurant Consultants, which grew into one of the most respected restaurant consulting firms in the country. His clients have included nearly every major foodservice and retail brand, such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Chipotle, Panda Express, Wendy’s, Costco, Target, Walmart, and dozens of independent chef-driven concepts across the globe.
Eric got his start in restaurant operations at just sixteen. Beyond consulting, he has developed and operated his own ventures and also worked as a designer and contractor on several high-profile hospitality projects. He has served on the Consulting Boards of both the California Restaurant Association and the National Restaurant Association, contributing his expertise to industry evolution.
With the rise of delivery as a critical channel, Eric expanded his focus and founded US Delivery Consultants, recognizing the need for end-to-end support in this fast-changing landscape. With over 25,000 deliveries personally completed, Eric brings unmatched insight into both the operational and experiential aspects of delivery. His team helps brands and operators navigate packaging, logistics, technology, training, and strategic partnerships—ensuring quality and brand integrity are never compromised.
Outside of work, Eric has dedicated a lifetime to serving his community. He has served as a City Commissioner and held board roles with numerous nonprofits, including the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Police Activities League, YMCA, SHARE, Parks Foundation, Crossroads Community Foundation/PS Arts, Institute of Packaging Professionals, UCLA Alumni Association, RAND Policy Circle, National Restaurant Association, Virginia Avenue Park, Pier Restoration Corporation, Padres Contra El Cáncer, local PTAs, and others. His commitment to civic engagement is broad and deeply rooted.
In recognition of his lifelong service, Eric was nominated by his hometown community and selected from thousands of national applicants to receive the National Humanitarian of the Year Congressional Award in 2010. He was honored in a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol on May 5, 2010, where the award was presented by Congressman John Lewis and other members of Congress.
